Regular Season Round 1: Plateras - Halcones 76-65

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Halcones in Fresnillo on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Plateras 76-65. Plateras had a 33-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Khadija Brown (190, college: UAPB) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds. Canadian guard Faatimah Amen-Ra (163-1991, college: Toronto) contributed with 23 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Plateras players scored in double figures. American swingman Jordan Reynolds (180-1995, college: Tennessee) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Imani Watkins (173-1996, college: Binghamton) added 16 points in the effort for Halcones. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Plateras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Halcones will play on the road against Adelitas in Chihuahua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
