No shocking result in a game when third ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (18-10) smashed at home 7th ranked Venados (9-19) 109-86 on Tuesday. Rayos de Hermosillo forced 19 Venados turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. American guard Jordan Brangers (188-1995, college: South Plains) scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Turkish center Alihan Demir (206-1996, college: Minnesota) chipped in 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) during the contest. American forward Derrick Woods (203-1997, college: St.Peter's) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Davin White (185-1981, college: CSUN) scored 19 points and 4 assists. Five Rayos de Hermosillo and four Venados players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Los Mochis and Astros. Venados lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 19 games lost. Rayos de Hermosillo will meet league's leader Astros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Venados will play against Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
