An interesting game for Panteras (9-6) which hosted in Aguascalientes second-ranked Astros (9-6). Third ranked Panteras had an easy win 103-68. Panteras dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Astros' 34. They outrebounded Astros 46-22 including a 38-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Panteras shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 35 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Astros' players. The former international guard Angela Rodriguez (173-1991, college: Milwaukee) had a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American center Shannon Coffee (196-1997, college: Stanford) chipped in 25 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Five Panteras players scored in double figures. Guard Paulina Rodriguez (180-1997, college: WNMU) responded with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international center Myriam Lara (186-1994) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panteras moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Astros. Panteras will again play against Astros (#3) in Jalisco in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Astros will have a break next round.
