Regular Season Round 4: Mineros - Dorados 76-50

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Dorados (6-1) in Zacatecas on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Mineros (4-3) 76-50. Mineros dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Dorados' 24. They outrebounded Dorados 58-39 including a 40-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Franklin Hassell (203-1988, college: ODU, agency: SDJ Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized American Durrell Summers (196-1989, college: Michigan St.) who added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Mineros players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Marvin Jefferson (206-1986, college: Idaho, agency: Interperformances) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Argentinian forward Franco Giorgetti (203-1992) scored 7 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mineros maintains third position with 4-3 record having just two points less than leader Dorados, which they share with 4 other teams. Dorados at the other side still keep top place with one game lost. Mineros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dorados will play at home against the league's second-placed Fuerza Regia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
