Regular Season Round 1: Lobas - Quetzales 93-80

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Ciudad de Mexico: Lobas and Quetzales. Lobas won against visiting Quetzales 93-80. Lobas dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Quetzales' 46. They outrebounded Quetzales 45-31 including 19 on the offensive glass. Maria Fausto nailed 29 points and 4 steals for the winning side and Stephany Chavez accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Lobas players scored in double figures. Lobas' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-1987) came up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and Melissa Gutierrez added 25 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Quetzales in the defeat. Lobas will play against Racers in Saltillo in the next round. Quetzales will have a break next round.
