The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Astros (7-3) on the court of eighth ranked Pioneros Los Mochis on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Pioneros Los Mochis 96-91. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Astros. Pioneros Los Mochis made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Swiss point guard Jordan Stevens (182-1994, college: Midwestern St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 37 points (!!!). American power forward Kwame Alexander (201-1990, college: CSUSB, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Pioneros Los Mochis' coach Guillermo Vecchio used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Jordan Loveridge (198-1993, college: Utah) answered with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Nigerian-American forward Emmanuel Omogbo (203-1995, college: Colorado St.) added 22 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Astros. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pioneros Los Mochis (3-6) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Obregon. Newly promoted Astros still keep top position with three games lost. They share it with Culiacan. Pioneros Los Mochis is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Venados (#8) in Mazatlan in the next round. Astros will play on the road against the league's second-placed Caballeros de Culiacan (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
