Regular Season Round 6: Racers - Teporacas 51-88

Rather expected game when 3rd ranked Racers (7-3) were smashed by top-ranked Teporacas (12-0) in Saltillo 88-51 on Sunday. Teporacas forced 20 Racers turnovers and had a 34-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. American guard Briahanna Jackson (168-1993, college: Louisville) notched 25 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international forward Jacqueline Luna-Castro (188-1993, college: Charleston) supported her with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Teporacas players scored in double figures. Even 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by the former international point guard Daniela Pardo (165-1994) did not help to save the game for Racers. The former international swingman Daniela Soto (177-1995) added 14 points and 4 steals. Racers' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Teporacas have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Loser Racers keep the third place with three games lost. Teporacas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Racers will play against the league's second-placed Mieleras in Guanajuato and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
