Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Ciudad de Mexico: Quetzales (#3) and Lobas (#2). Quetzales (1-4) won against visiting Lobas (2-4) 63-58. The winners were led by Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-1987) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds and American point guard Aniese Palmore (165-1994, college: UMW) supported her with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Palmore is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Quetzales players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 8 rebounds by swingman Anel Tapia (175) did not help to save the game for Lobas. Guard Fernanda Fausto (172) added 17 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the guests. Lobas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Quetzales maintains third position with 1-4 record having just six point less than leader Teporacas. It was Lobas' third loss in a row. They keep the second place with four games lost. Quetzales will play against league's leader Teporacas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lobas will have a break next round.
