There was no surprise in Chihuahua where Abejas were crushed by Adelitas 89-68 on Sunday. Adelitas made 38-of-48 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game, while Abejas only scored fourteen points from the stripe. American center Channon Fluker (193-1997, college: CSUN) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import guard Kristen Spolyar (178-1997, college: Butler) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side Venezuelan guard Waleska Perez (180-1994, college: Weatherford JC) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and American swingman Gia Pack (178-1998, college: NM State) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Adelitas will meet Correcaminos in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Abejas will have a break next round.
