Regular Season Round 2: Freseras - Panteras 63-106
Date: May 11, 2023
There was no surprise when Freseras were crushed at home by Panteras 106-63 on Thursday. Panteras outrebounded Freseras 41-28 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Freseras' players. Latvian center Kristine Vitola (196-1991, college: UTEP) scored 24 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Sabrina Haines (178-1997, college: Kentucky) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Dejza James (185-1995, college: Arizona) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panteras will meet at home Halcones in the next round where they are favorite. Freseras will have a break next round.
