Leader Libertadores delivered the twelfth victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Abejas (2-10) 69-55 in Leon. They outrebounded Abejas 43-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Feyonda Fitzgerald (170-1995, college: Temple) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. Power forward Lyndra Weaver (185-1987, college: Virginia) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Libertadores players scored in double figures. Guard Lasha Petree (183, college: Purdue) answered with 17 points and forward Zada Williams (188-1996, college: Florida) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Abejas. Abejas' coach Carlos Gorosito rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Libertadores. They maintain first place with 12-2 record, which they share with Panteras. Abejas lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with Correcaminos. Libertadores will play against Fuerza Regia (#6) in Monterrey in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Abejas will play at home against Plateras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
