Regular Season Round 9: Freseras - Libertadores 92-95

Seventh-ranked Freseras (3-15) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Libertadores (12-6) in Irapuato on Sunday. The visitors from Queretaro managed to secure only three-point victory 95-92. However their fans expected much easier game. American players dominated the game. Forward Myke Henry (198-1992, college: DePaul) nailed 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and guard Branden Frazier (191-1992, college: Fordham) accounted for 17 points and 5 assists. Guard Matthew Butler (188-1995, college: UT Martin) came up with 19 points and 5 assists and guard Antwon Lillard (198-1995, college: BGSU) added 20 points respectively for Freseras in the defeat. Five Libertadores and four Freseras players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Libertadores have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-6 record, which they share with Astros. Loser Freseras keep the seventh position with 15 games lost. Libertadores will meet at home league's second-placed Panteras in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Freseras will play against the league's second-placed Abejas (#2) in Guanajuato and hope to secure a win.
