Thirteenth-rankedFreseras (5-11) gave a tough game to first ranked Fuerza Regia (15-3) in Monterrey on Saturday. Fuerza Regia managed to secure only three-point victory 93-90 . However their fans expected much easier game. Fuerza Regia made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for point guard Micah Speight (178-1998, college: S.Nazarene) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Forward Wayne Langston (200-1993, college: Murray St.) helped adding 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Fuerza Regia's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) responded with 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Daniel Giddens (213-1997, college: Vermont) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 15-3 record. Freseras lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost.
