Regular Season Round 8: Rojas - Panteras 61-91

LNBPF round 8 most important game was a victory of Panteras over one of their biggest challengers Rojas 91-61 on Sunday night. Panteras forced 22 Rojas turnovers and outrebounded them 40-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. Senegalese-Spanish center Astou Ndour-Fall (196-1994) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points. American forward Emma Ronsiek (188, college: Colorado St.) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American guard Briahanna Jackson (168-1993, college: Louisville) replied with 25 points and 5 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Angela Tompkins (188-1991, college: Wichita St.) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Rojas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panteras have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Freseras. Rojas at the other side keep the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Fuerza Regia. Panteras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rojas will play on the road against Fuerza Regia (#4) in Monterrey and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
