There was no surprise in Chihuahua where 8th rankedAbejas (1-12) were outplayed by first ranked Adelitas (13-1) 106-49 on Saturday. Adelitas dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Abejas ' 30. Adelitas forced 20 Abejas turnovers and outrebounded them 50-24 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Adelitas looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Abejas ' players. The best player for the winners was American guard Kristen Spolyar (178-1997, college: Butler) who scored 26 points and 5 assists. The other American import center Danielle Adams (185-1989, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Five Adelitas players scored in double figures. Adelitas' coach Maikel Lopez felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Puerto Rican forward Nairimar Vargas-Reyes (183-2000, college: Stony Brook) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and Argentinian forward Ana Paz (180-1997) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Adelitas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record. Abejas lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost.
