Astros dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Diablos ' 22. They outrebounded Diablos 37-19 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. American swingman Chavaughn Lewis (195-1993, college: Marist) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. Dominican Rigoberto Mendoza (191-1992) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Astros players scored in double figures. Venezuelan forward Michael Carrera (196-1993, college: S.Carolina, agency: BIG) replied with 20 points and Latvian Kriss Helmanis (209-2002) added 12 points in the effort for Diablos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
