Regular Season Round 9: Indigenas - Ingenieria 99-104

Bottom-ranked Indigenas (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 104-99 loss to seventh ranked Ingenieria (3-2) in Matagalpa. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Indigenas' 38. It was a good game for Cuban point guard Osmel Oliva (180-87) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. The former international center Rudy Taylor (198-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Puerto Rican point guard Christian Lopez (183-95) answered with a double-double by scoring 50 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals (went 17 for 17 at the free throw line !!!) and Dominican center Teodoro Romero added 11 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Indigenas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ingenieria moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Indigenas at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Tigres. Ingenieria will play against Rivas (#6) in the next round. Indigenas will play against Tigres and hope to get finally their first victory.
