There was no surprise in Managua where 15th rankedHurricane (6-13) was defeated by fourth ranked UNAN de (15-4) 85-69 on Saturday. UNAN de dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Hurricane 's 38. They outrebounded Hurricane 57-39 including a 44-33 advantage in defensive rebounds. UNAN de looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Vansdell Thomas (185-1986) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international Walter Diaz (179-1989) who added 12 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four UNAN de L. players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Yassir Cruz (-1999) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Jose Arce scored 13 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. UNAN de have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 15-4 record. Loser Hurricane dropped to the seventeenth place with 13 games lost.
