The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Managua:Jaguares (#3) and Leonas (#4). Jaguares (3-2) crushed visiting Leonas (0-5) by 27 points 72-45 . Jaguares held Leonas to an opponent 20.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 34.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Jaguares forced 23 Leonas turnovers and outrebounded them 72-40 including a 54-33 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Mariah Miller (182-1998, college: CSU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and chipped in 8 points and 15 rebounds. Jaguares' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. responded with 10 points and 9 rebounds and Alicia Loesch scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Nicaragua Femenil. Leonas at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost.
