There was no surprise in Managua where 7th rankedTigres (2-12) were defeated by first ranked Jaguares (12-2) 84-76 on Saturday. Jaguares forced 19 Tigres turnovers. Strangely Tigres outrebounded Jaguares 49-37 including a 18-6 advantage in defensive rebounds. Puerto Rican guard Luis Lopez (182-1998, college: PR-Mayaguez) stepped up and scored 32 points and 4 assists for the winners and chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds. Jaguares' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 20 rebounds and Tyrell Mendenhall produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Four Tigres players scored in double figures. Jaguares maintains first place with 12-2 record. Tigres lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost.
