The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Managua:Jaguares (#1) and Leones (#6). Leones were defeated at home 95-103 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Jaguares had a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Puerto Rican guard Luis Lopez (182-1998, college: PR-Mayaguez) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 8 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (201-1990, college: Murray St., agency: 011 Sports) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Jaguares' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. answered with 26 points and added 22 points in the effort for Leones. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jaguares have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-2 record. Leones lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 14 games lost.
