Everything could happen in Rivas at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh rankedMineros and 10th ranked Frente had identical 3-4 record. But Frente was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Puerto Cabezas 87-80 on Saturday night. Mineros forced 22 Frente turnovers. The winners were led by Jose Mccurbia who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Armando Martinez (190-1988) supported him with 7 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Mineros players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 14 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Jason Cortez (-1999) did not help to save the game for Frente . Luis Urbina (180-2001) added 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mineros (4-4) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Tipitapa. Frente lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost.
