Very important is a road loss of third rankedUAM Univ. (17-5) against fourteenth ranked Tipitapa (8-12) on Tuesday night. Visiting UAM Univ. was crushed by Tipitapa in Managua 85-62 . Tipitapa dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to UAM Univ. 's 22. Tipitapa forced 22 UAM Univ. turnovers and outrebounded them 44-26 including 19 on the offensive glass. Tipitapa players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Magdiel Rivera stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners and Alfredo Borge (188-1992) chipped in 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Tipitapa players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Shaen McMeo (-2006) with 14 points and 4 assists and Enroy Slate scored 10 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tipitapa moved-up to twelfth place. UAM Univ. at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost.
