Regular Season Round 10: Univ.West - Dragones 89-94

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Univ.West (8-3) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Dragones (4-7) 94-89. Dragones forced 21 Univ.West turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Univ.West's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dragones made 10 blocks. Center Jesus Lombardo (201-0) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Manuel Barnes (187-98) chipped in 26 points during the contest. At the losing side point guard Gonzalo Ortiz Jr (182-2) responded with 30 points and 4 steals (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and Randal Aguilar (-1) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dragones moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Atletico. Univ.West at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Correcaminos.
