There was no surprise in Panama City where 5th rankedLA U (2-5) was defeated by third ranked Panteras (6-2) 71-61 on Sunday. Panteras forced 19 LA U turnovers. Naturalized American guard Ashley Reid (165-1998, college: Wichita St.) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Venezuelan point guard Nathaly Malpica (161) chipped in 24 points and 6 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was Venezuelan guard Crismar Rojas with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds and Nickielys Alvarez scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Panteras moved-up to second place. LA U lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with five games lost.
