Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Asuncion: Libertad A. (#1) and Ciudad N. (#3). Ciudad N. was defeated at home 68-78 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The best player for the winners was international forward Jorge Sequera (194-88) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. The former international point guard Manuel Aponte (179-92) chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Hugo Paredes (198-84) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds and Lucas Saldivar added 19 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Libertad A. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group B with 4-0 record. Loser Ciudad N. keeps the third place with three games lost. Libertad A. will meet San Alfonso (#4) in the next round. Ciudad N. will have a break next round.
