Regular Season Round 13: Guaynabo - Guayama 91-92

Third-ranked Mets (4-6) gave a tough game to second ranked Brujos (9-3) in Guaynabo on Saturday. The visitors from Guayama managed to secure only one-point victory 92-91. However their fans expected easier game. Brujos looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. International swingman Alex Franklin (198-88, college: Siena) stepped up and scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international forward Christopher Ortiz (203-93, college: Kent St., agency: Network Sports International) chipped in 24 points and 12 rebounds. Four Brujos players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard David Stockton (180-91, college: Gonzaga) responded with 26 points and 9 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and the other American import power forward Diamond Stone (211-97, college: Maryland) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Mets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Brujos maintains second place with 9-3 record having just one victory less than leader Bayamon. Newly promoted Mets keep the third position with six games lost. They share it with Carolina. Brujos are looking forward to face Leones (#4) in Juana Diaz in the next round. Mets will have a break next round.
