We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Carolina where 4th ranked Gigantes (4-7) were defeated by fifth ranked Cangrejeros (5-7) 107-98 on Monday. Cangrejeros made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. American Thomas Robinson (208-91, college: Kansas, agency: Network Sports International) had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. American point guard Diante Garrett (193-88, college: Iowa St., agency: Wasserman) responded with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import Ricky Ledo (201-92, college: Providence) scored 26 points. Five Cangrejeros and four Gigantes players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cangrejeros moved-up to third place. Loser Gigantes dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Cangrejeros will meet league's leader Vaqueros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gigantes will have a break next round.
