Very important is a home loss of second ranked Brujos (9-4) against fourth ranked Leones (6-5) on Monday night. Host Brujos were crushed by Leones in Guayama 92-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Brujos. They outrebounded Brujos 51-30 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Leones players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward Aleem Ford (203-96, college: Wisconsin) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. U.S. Virgin Islands-American power forward Jordan Murphy (201-97, college: Minnesota) contributed with 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Christopher Ortiz (203-93, college: Kent St., agency: Network Sports International) replied with 20 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Terrico White (196-90, college: Ole Miss, agency: Shark Sports Management) added 12 points in the effort for Brujos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Leones maintains fourth position with 6-5 record. Brujos at the other side keep the second place with four games lost. Leones will play against higher ranked Indios (#3) in Mayaguez in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Brujos will have a break next round.
