Regular Season Round 35: Bayamon - Carolina 100-99

Fifth-ranked Gigantes (5-20) made lots of trouble for first ranked Vaqueros (21-2) in Bayamon. Vaqueros managed to secure only one-point victory 100-99. However their fans expected much easier game. Vaqueros made 24-of-24 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. International point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-92, college: Miami, FL, agency: Shark Sports Management) saved the victory by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American forward Kristian Doolittle (201-97, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Vaqueros' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Kalin Lucas (185-89, college: Michigan St.) answered with 21 points and 7 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import Maurice Kemp (203-91, college: ECU) added 22 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Gigantes. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Vaqueros have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 21-2 record. Gigantes lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 20 games lost. Vaqueros will play against league's second-placed Brujos in Guayama in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gigantes will have a break next round.
