An interesting game for Leones (8-4) which hosted in Juana Diaz their close opponent Piratas (9-4). Second ranked Leones had an easy win 114-69. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Leones forced 20 Piratas turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 23 long-distance shots on high 57.5 percentage. Leones looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-1991, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Ismael Cruz (190-2001, college: Indian Hills) accounted for 24 points for the winning side. Five Leones players scored in double figures. American forward Jamil Wilson (201-1990, college: Marquette) came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized American forward Benjamin Colon (201-1984, college: Florida St. Jkv) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Piratas in the defeat. Leones maintains second place with 8-4 record having just one point less than leader Quebradillas. Loser Piratas still keep top position with four games lost. Leones will again meet league's leader Piratas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Piratas will have a break next round.
