Regular Season Round 11: Guayama - Quebradillas 69-72

Sixth-ranked Brujos (3-8) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Piratas (9-4) in Guayama on Wednesday. The visitors from Quebradillas managed to secure only three-point victory 72-69. However their fans expected much easier game. American forward Jamil Wilson (201-1990, college: Marquette) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Carlos Emory (196-1991) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Terrico White (196-1990, college: Ole Miss) answered with 13 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Christopher Ortiz (203-1993, college: Kent St.) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Brujos. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Brujos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Piratas keep a position of league leader. Brujos at the other side keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Piratas are looking forward to face league's second-placed Leones in Juana Diaz in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Brujos will play on the road against Indios (#5) in Mayaguez and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
