The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Indios' (7-10) home loss to fourth ranked Atleticos (8-7) 110-112 on Sunday. Atleticos made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Atleticos outrebounded Indios 44-32 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (201-1995, college: Arizona) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and international forward Jose Rodriguez (201-1992, college: Texas Southern) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side naturalized Nicaraguan guard Jared Ruiz (188-1992) responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Jordan Cintron (203-1998, college: Niagara) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Four Atleticos and five Indios players scored in double figures. Atleticos have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 8-7 record. Loser Indios keep the fifth position with ten games lost. Atleticos will meet at home higher ranked Leones (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Indios will play against Grises and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
