There was a minor upset when their close opponent Grises (6-8) lost to fifth ranked Indios (8-10) in Mayaguez 71-85 on Friday. Indios looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Davon Jefferson (203-1986, college: USC) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and naturalized Nicaraguan guard Jared Ruiz (188-1992) supported him with 23 points and 4 assists. Five Indios players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds by international center Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-1994, college: Towson) did not help to save the game for Grises. American guard Gabriel Belardo (188-1989, college: FIU) added 21 points and 4 assists for the guests. Grises' coach rotated eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Indios maintains fifth position with 8-10 record which they share with defeated Grises. Loser Grises keep the fifth place with eight games lost. Indios will meet at home league's leader Leones in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Grises will play against Cangrejeros (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
