The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Brujos' (8-19) road loss to fifth ranked Indios (14-14) 50-68 on Wednesday. Indios outrebounded Brujos 43-31 including 37 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Brujos' players. Naturalized Nicaraguan guard Jared Ruiz (188-1992) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Kaleb Wesson (208-1999, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Josh Perkins (191-1995, college: Gonzaga, agency: Slash Sports) produced 17 points and 6 assists and his fellow American import power forward Ben McCauley (206-1986, college: NC State) added 6 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Indios moved-up to third place, which they share with Fajardo. Loser Brujos keep the sixth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Humacao. Indios will meet Atleticos (#4) in the next round. Brujos will play against Cariduros in Fajardo and hope to secure a win.
