Regular Season Round 23: Guaynabo - Humacao 97-100

A very close game took place in Guaynabo between Grises and Mets. Sixth ranked Grises (8-20) got a very close victory on the road over 5th ranked Mets (11-17). Grises managed to escape with a 3-point win 100-97 on Friday evening. Grises looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Malcolm Miller (200-1993, college: Holy Cross) who led the winners and scored 25 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Gabriel Belardo (188-1989, college: FIU) accounted for 18 points and 10 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winning side. Belardo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Grises' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international forward Renaldo Balkman (201-1984, college: S.Carolina) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Tyquan Rolon (192-1995, college: LeMoyne) added 22 points respectively for Mets in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Grises maintains sixth place with 8-20 record. Mets lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 17 games lost. Grises will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mets will play against Atleticos (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
