The most exciting game of round 9 in the BSN took place in Fajardo. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Cangrejeros (2-4) to fourth ranked Cariduros (3-5) 83-81 in the game for the third place. Cariduros looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international forward Emmanuel Andujar (197-1993, college: Manhattan) stepped up and scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and American center Elijah Holman (208-1989, college: Detroit) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Cariduros' coach Allans Colon used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Alfonso Plummer (185-1997, college: Illinois) with 20 points and American point guard Tu Holloway (183-1989, college: Xavier) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Five Cariduros and four Cangrejeros players scored in double figures. Cariduros moved-up to third place. Cangrejeros at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Cariduros are looking forward to face Mets (#6) in Guaynabo in the next round. Cangrejeros will play at home against the league's second-placed Atleticos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
