There was a small surprise in Santurce where fourth ranked Cangrejeros (3-4) defeated much higher ranked Atleticos (6-2) 90-80 on Tuesday. Cangrejeros made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The former international forward Angel Matias (194-1992, college: Georgia South) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard David Stockton (180-1991, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 21 points and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Norris Cole (188-1988, college: CSU) responded with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international forward Jose Rodriguez (201-1992, college: Texas Southern) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cangrejeros maintains fourth position with 3-4 record. Loser Atleticos keep the second place with two games lost. Cangrejeros will meet Mets (#6) in the next round. Atleticos will play against Indios (#5) and hope to secure a win.
