Regular Season Round 17: Ponce - San German 85-83

The most exciting game of round 17 in the BSN took place in Juana Diaz. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Atleticos (9-5) to fifth ranked Leones (6-8) 85-83 on Sunday evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Cameron Oliver (203-1996, college: Nevada) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Chasson Randle (188-1993, college: Stanford) chipped in 13 points. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (202-1989, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds and international point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-1994) added 17 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Four Leones and five Atleticos players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Leones moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Atleticos at the other side keep the second position with five games lost. Leones is looking forward to face higher ranked Capitanes (#3) in Arecibo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Atleticos will play at home against Mets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
