The game in Manati was also quite interesting. Third ranked Capitanes (10-6) played at the court of 6th ranked Osos (4-13). Capitanes managed to secure a 9-point victory 101-92 on Sunday. Capitanes dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Osos' 44. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-1986, college: Florida) who scored that evening 30 points and 4 assists and Dominican Victor Liz (190-1986) supported him with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Even 29 points and 5 assists by American guard Sheldon Mac (196-1992, college: Miami, FL, agency: Slash Sports) did not help to save the game for Osos. His fellow American import forward Davon Jefferson (203-1986, college: USC) added 13 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Capitanes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with San German and Carolina. Osos lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 13 games lost. Capitanes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Osos will play against Atleticos (#3) and hope to secure a win.
