Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth rankedAthleticas and 8th ranked Lares had identical 5-10 record. But Lares were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from San German 77-71 on Thursday night. San German outrebounded Lares 48-35 including 37 on the defensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Sidney Cooks (193-1998, college: Seton Hall) fired a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Geovana Rios (168, college: LMU) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Guard Juicy Landrum (173-1997, college: Baylor) produced 28 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Tess Amundsen (185-1999, college: CSUN) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. San German (6-10) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Isabela and Hatillo. Lares lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost.
