Rather predictable result in Carolina where first rankedCapitanes (7-5) smashed 3rd placed Gigantes (5-3) 94-74 on Thursday. Arecibo looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Pierre Jackson (180-1991, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) fired 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Australian center Jonah Bolden (208-1996, college: UCLA) chipped in 7 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Kobi Simmons (196-1997, college: Arizona) produced 19 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Kristian Doolittle (201-1997, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Capitanes have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Arecibo maintains first place with 7-5 record. Defending champion Carolina dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with Santurce.
