Everything went according to plan when first rankedVaqueros (10-2) outplayed 4th placed Mets (5-5) in Bayamon 116-87 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Bayamon. Guaynabo managed to win third quarter 27-24 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vaqueros made 26-of-29 free shots (89.7 percent) during the game. Vaqueros outrebounded Mets 39-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. Vaqueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Mets ' players. Italian forward Danilo Gallinari (208-1988) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and Dominican swingman Chris Duarte (197-1997, college: Oregon) accounted for 18 points and 8 assists. Five Vaqueros players scored in double figures. The former international Jaysean Paige (188-1994, college: WVU) came up with 26 points and 6 assists and American forward Derrick Williams (203-1991, college: Arizona) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Mets in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bayamon have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-2 record. Guaynabo lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with five games lost.
