There was no surprise in Mayaguez where 6th rankedOsos (4-17) were defeated by third ranked Indios (13-11) 97-89 on Monday. Mayaguez looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Milton Doyle (193-1993, college: Loyola, IL) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 assists and New Zealand forward Samuel Waardenburg (208-1999, college: Miami, FL) who added 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. International guard Alex Morales (198-1997, college: Wagner) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American power forward Dewan Hernandez (211-1997, college: Miami, FL, agency: ASE) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Five Mayaguez and four Manati players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mayaguez maintains third position with 13-11 record having six points less than leader Quebradillas. Loser Osos keeps the sixth place with 17 games lost.
