Finals Game 5: Bayamon - Ponce 82-68

Vaqueres de Bayamon celebrated BSN title. They rallied past Leones de Ponce in the fifth game of the championship series to lift the trophy. The game was mostly controlled by Vaqueros. Leones managed to win second period19-18 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bayamon forced 20 Ponce turnovers and outrebounded them 34-22 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Italian forward Danilo Gallinari (208-1988) stepped up and scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and the former international guard Gary Browne (185-1993, college: WVU) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. American guard Michael Devoe (196-1999, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import guard Matt Mooney (189-1997, college: Texas Tech) scored 17 points. Four Ponce players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
