Regular Season Round 7: Stockolmo - Lagomar 58-76

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Stockolmo (3-1) in Montevideo on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Lagomar (3-0) 76-58. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Stockolmo. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Lagomar looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Stockolmo's players. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American Reque Newsome (203-81, college: S.Indiana) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Martin Perdomo (178-95) contributed with 14 points and 7 assists for the winners. Point guard Juan Galletto (182-96) answered with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and center Mauricio Arregui (200-98) added 10 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Stockolmo. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Stockolmo's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lagomar have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Cordon. Stockolmo at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. Lagomar is looking forward to face Tabare (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Stockolmo will have a break next round.
