Everything could happen in Montevideo at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Stockolmo and 9th ranked U.Atletica had identical 4-5 record. But U.Atletica was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Montevideo 86-69 on Saturday night. Stockolmo forced 22 U.Atletica turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Anthony Danridge (196-86, college: N.Mexico) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 8 assists. Center Mauricio Arregui (200-98) helped adding 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four Stockolmo players scored in double figures. Stockolmo's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was the former international Emilio Taboada (191-82) with 28 points and American forward Antonio Bivins (198-92, college: UMass Lowell) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Stockolmo (5-5) moved-up to fifth place. Loser U.Atletica dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Stockolmo will meet Tabare (#8) on the road in the next round. U.Atletica's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Lagomar.
