There was no surprise in Montevideo where 10th ranked O.Mundial (2-5) was defeated by leader Aguada (6-0) 76-63 on Monday. Aguada had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. American center Jarvis Varnado (206-88, college: MSU, agency: BIG) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Tyreek Duren (183-91, college: La Salle) chipped in 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Aguada's coach Daniel Seoane used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Brazilian center Pedro Ianguas (210-98) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds and guard Angel Varela (188-87) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Aguada. They moved-up to second place. O.Mundial lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Hebraica and Trouville.
