Very expected game when 14th ranked Capitol (1-9) lost to eighth ranked Nacional (5-4) in Montevideo 83-89 on Wednesday. Nacional outrebounded Capitol 45-25 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Central African-American power forward Johndre Jefferson (207-88, college: S.Carolina, agency: Inception Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and American forward Quincy Miller-Scott (206-92, college: Baylor) accounted for 19 points and 8 rebounds. Four Nacional players scored in double figures. Nacional's coach Leonardo Zylberstein allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Davaunta Thomas (196-95, college: UAFS) came up with 40 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Marvin Phillips (201-83, college: Claflin) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Capitol in the defeat. Nacional moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Olimpia. Loser Capitol stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Nacional's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Urunday.
