The game in Montevideo was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Remeros (7-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Lagomar (4-6). Remeros did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 79-60 on Saturday. Remeros outrebounded Lagomar 50-29 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Forward Pia Moyano (170-1995) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian center Ornela Bacchini (188-1989, college: OLLU) chipped in 16 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. At the losing side Argentinian guard Melina Marcial (168-1998) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Evangelina Rolon (181-2005) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Remeros have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Lagomar keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Remeros will meet at home Paysandu (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lagomar will play against the league's leader Aguada and hope to secure a win.
